While not quite as popular as women's rights, the issue of men's rights are also seeping into the consciousness of many as a counterpart and reaction to women's rights. With the dawn of feminism, men have ended up becoming villified; they were made to look like the “bad guy” for the most part, and no one ever thought to ask if it were possible for them to be victims of any form of abuse or discrimination. Discrimination against men is quite clear when examining things like law enforcement – men who are the victims of physical, emotional or psychological abuse for example are often written off or worse, ridiculed. Paternity fraud is also an issue that is starting to attract attention, as some women try to blackmail certain rich men into providing for her illegitimate child – even if he didn't father it.
Despite what many people think, men are as vulnerable to abuse as women are, and for the most part they are not protected because they are perceived as capable of protecting themselves (or being incapable of falling for abusive machinations). This particular section exists to inspire awareness of these little-known issues.
Issues regarding the rights of men (males) are to be discussed here.
